Meet Nugget & Selkie, a pair of bonded four-year-old brothers. They’ve just lost the only home they’ve ever known. When their beloved mom (and one of our beloved fosters) passed away, we made her one final promise: that we would find them a safe, loving home — together. We intend to keep that promise. Selkie is already showing you exactly who he is. At Scruffy’s Cafe, he’s the brave one — the greeter, the snuggler, the soft place to land after a long day. He’ll happily curl up in your lap, soaking in pets like he’s been waiting his whole life just to love you. And Nugget… Nugget is trying. He’s the quieter half of this pair, the one still tucked behind pillows or camped out on the litter room shelves, watching the world from a safe distance. He’s scared, and honestly, who could blame him? His whole world changed overnight. But he leans on Selkie, and that bond is everything. Selkie is his safety, his confidence, his guide. What they need now is to find their forever family. A calm, patient space where Nugget can slowly learn that he’s safe again, and where Selkie can continue to shine and reassure his brother every step of the way. Choosing them means giving Nugget the chance to come out from behind the pillows.
It means gaining Selkie’s endless affection — and eventually, Nugget’s too.
