Medical Fund

We never turn away a feline because of illness or injury.

Not all cats and kittens that Feral Feline Friends rescues are healthy. We frequently see felines suffering from a variety of illnesses and injuries that need extra time, attention, and funds to help them on their way to adoption. Common ailments we see can be:
  • Respiratory infections
  • Broken bones
  • Parasites
  • Feline leukemia
  • Internal injuries
  • FIP

Feral Feline Friends will never turn away a feline due to cost or recovery time. The only way we’re able to do this is through donations from our supporters. Check out these quick stories of Feral Feline Friend’s alums, and consider donating today!

Here's Just a Few of Our Medical Fund Success Stories!

Rooney

Medical Fund 1

Rooney came to FFF with two very badly infected eyes. We determined that it had been some time since she had any eyesight, but that didn’t hold her back! Despite her gruesome injuries, Rooney was a typical playful kitten who learned quickly how to navigate her foster home while waiting on double enucleations. Rooney went through three surgeries, one for each eye and her spay. Throughout it all, she stayed a curious, adventurous kitten. Using funds donated from supporters, Rooney was able to get the care she needed and found the perfect forever family who had previously adopted from FFF.

Luigi

Luigi

Luigi was surrendered to a local animal shelter who didn’t have the resources to address his medical needs. He had previous injuries to his hips and legs that had healed inappropriately, so Luigi required additional medical treatments to help him walk easier and alleviate pain. Luigi required six weeks of cage rest after his procedure and multiple vet visits. Luckily, Luigi is a very chill boy who enjoyed lounging in his condo while watching the other cats in his foster home. We took our time searching for the perfect home for Luigi since he would likely have continuing medical needs, and now he happily lives with his three feline siblings and human parents.

Mauricio

Mauricio1

Mauricio lived in a local community cat colony when his dedicated feeder noticed that his stomach was bloated and he didn’t seem like himself. After visiting our trusted vets, we determined that Mauricio was suffering from wet and neuro FIP. We quickly got Mauricio into a foster home that specializes in treating FIP felines, and Mauricio is well on his road to recovery. He’s also decided that the indoor life is for him! The treatment for FIP is thousands of dollars, but every feline that comes to FFF will receive the treatments they need due to the support from our donors. We can’t wait for Mauricio to fully recover and be adoptable into a safe, indoor home!
