When we first met Bruce Libby, he was in rough shape. He came from a hoarding situation but had not received appropriate vet care. His rescuer found him huddled behind another cat on a shelf, and she gently picked him up and knew he needed help. By the condition of his teeth, we were certain he was at least ten years old. As it turns out, he’s actually only four which we confirmed since he was with his previous owner since birth. His poor teeth were a nightmare, and after an intensive dental, he gained two pounds within just a few weeks! Finally he was pain free! Even though he’s so much more comfortable, Bruce Libby is still very leery of strangers. He’s the sweetest guy but almost seems too scared to draw attention to himself. When you are able to pet him, he immediately starts purring, rolls over on his back, and runs his face against your hand. He loves to be petted so much! Bruce Libby is used to being around other cats but would do best with gentle, older cats who will be his friend. He’s used to being around cat-savvy dogs, but their barking tends to scare him. We think older kiddos may be ok with him depending on their experience, excitement and enthusiasm with having cats.
