Buddy has a very sad story that we're hoping to turn into a success story! Buddy's human dad passed away and left him in a total state of confusion. Buddy's dad was the only human that could interact with him, so he's had quite the time trying to figure out life without him. Initially we thought that Buddy would be happiest in our barn cat program given his fear of people, but with an opening in a long-term foster home, we moved him hoping that he would be able to trust another person. And he's doing great! While Buddy will run when someone approaches him, he rarely hides and is usually found lounging around the house. Buddy may have trust issues with humans, but he LOVES other cats, especially big playful boys. He’s made friends with several other felines in his foster home, and he’ll wrestle and chase with them for hours. Buddy also has two resident dogs in his foster home and doesn’t mind them as long as they give him space. Buddy will also curl up on the same couch with them when it’s nap time! We can’t guarantee you’ll ever be able to pet Buddy or have the traditional pet relationship with him, but it’s so rewarding to know he has a shot at bonding with other cats and living with other humans. We think he’d do best in a home with other pets (especially a playful cat!) and one or two humans who will let him live his life the way he wants, comfortable that they may only appreciate him from afar.
