When we first met Monroe, he was a severely injured feral cat who wanted absolutely nothing to do with people. Life outdoors had been hard on him, and it showed. Because of his injuries, Monroe couldn’t be released right away and instead spent time recovering with the person who trapped him.
During that healing time, something wonderful happened—Monroe discovered that the indoor life might actually be the better life after all. With patience and care, he slowly began to realize that people can be kind, and that a warm bed and regular meals beat the dangers of the streets.
Monroe will always carry the scars from his past, but those marks are just reminders of how far he’s come. While he’s still a bit cautious and will need time to adjust in a new home, he’s learning to trust and build friendships with people.
Monroe is the kind of cat who will choose his person, and when he does, that bond is something truly special. If you’re willing to give him the time and patience he deserves, you just might gain a very loyal new best friend.
