Mrs. Norris came to FFF after we received a call from a local shelter. She had been found as a stray, and when they contacted the facility where she originally came from, they took one look at her face and requested she be euthanized. We can only assume they thought it was cancer or something incurable from which she wouldn’t recover. Luckily for Mrs. Norris, the workers there knew that wasn’t right and called us! We weren’t sure what was going on with her face, but after some exploratory procedures during a dental cleaning, it was confirmed that she had previously suffered from a nasty case of rodent ulcers. The ulcers were so bad that they literally ate away her face. We can’t imagine the pain and suffering she went through, but that’s all behind her now and she’s all healed up. And you’d never know of her trauma if not for the way she looks because she’s an absolute GEM! Mrs. Norris loves to snuggle with her humans wherever they are. She’s obsessed with fluffy blankets and wet food. She may be 13+ years old, but she’ll play with a ribbon toy as long as you’ll throw it! Mrs. Norris is fine with cats and dogs as long as they ignore her. We think she’d be ok with older kids too, especially if she can sleep in the bed with them! Mrs. Norris should be safe from future rodent ulcers too as long as she gets consistent flea medication.
