Panther was adopted from us when he was just a little kitten. As a kitten, he was a playful little guy, getting along with both cats and dogs. Unfortunately his original adopter no longer had time for him. At a year old, and much, much bigger, he was returned. The change was not easy for Panther. He spent two days alternating between crying and hissing. Finally, with much coaxing and sweet talk, he realized he was welcome in his foster home. He adapted to the new schedule and even remembered that calm dogs are ok too. Panther grew up into a beautiful black cat. His shiny black coat and handsome good looks completely fit the “house panther” description. Panther is becoming more comfortable each day, but is still recovering emotionally from the loss of the home he remembers. He cries and begs for pets, but too much and he might swat. He follows his foster parents everywhere, and wants to be involved in whatever they are doing, but he will also still lightly bite their hand on occasion; not to injure, but to communicate. While he is becoming more and more comfortable, he needs kindness and understanding. A savvy cat owner without children might be the best fit for him. Panther needs a new family who will let him recover at his own pace. No doubt he has the ability to become someone’s heart kitty. If you think you can provide his forever home, watching his continued progress will be heartwarming and rewarding.
