Ru was living life outside with a loving caretaker who fed several colony cats when she disappeared for several days. When she eventually showed up, the caretaker discovered her tail was missing and she had a horrible wound instead.
Since we had originally helped Ru with TNR, we were asked to help again. Ru was taken to Riverside Vet where it was determined her tail had been pulled off. Her tail was pulled so hard that her back was broken. Whoever did this (human or animal) cut or bit her tail completely off leaving a painful wound.
This sweet girl continued to ask for attention, showing affection inspite of the tremendous pain. Surgery removed the rest of the injured tissue. Fortunately Ru has not suffered incontinence due to the injury and has no litterbox issues. Her recovery is nothing short of remarkable.
Ru needs a safe home as she can never live outside. And she is perfectly ok with that, ready for all the love she deserves.
