Sage did not grow up like other cats. She grew up in the mountains, where her neighbors were bears, not housecats. Dogs and other cats are still a bit of a mystery to her — bears, she understands. Bears, she can handle. It’s the small fuzzy creatures with tails that throw her off, although she seems to get along with them after careful introductions.
Her people decided a life of avoiding wildlife wasn’t much of a life, so Sage traded the mountains for a proper indoor home, and she’s adjusting well. She’s a striking blue-gray girl with wide gold eyes that miss nothing and ears built for picking up every sound in the house. She watches everything with the calm, steady focus of an animal who spent her first year reading a much bigger landscape than a living room.
Sage is still figuring out the whole “cats and dogs” thing, so a patient household willing to let her set the pace on introductions will suit her best. What she already knows how to do is settle in, keep her cool, and hold her ground — useful skills for a mountain cat starting her second act somewhere safer.
