Waxie is, objectively, the cutest girl at FFF. She’ll fight you on it, but she can’t hear you, so she loses.
She came to us with a severe ear mite infestation, and the damage left her deaf with a bit of a balance issue. Calling her name does nothing — you just have to go find her, which is half the fun and half the challenge of loving Waxie. Trying to get her attention for photos is its own sport.
What she lacks in hearing, she makes up for in feelings. Big ones. All at once. Suckling, biscuit making, head butts, purrs you can hear from the next room — Waxie has exactly one marble upstairs, and it is having the time of its life rolling around in there all day. She’s also decided she’s a dog. She’s obsessed with her foster home’s dogs, especially their tails, and tries to sneak out on walks because she’s certain she’s part of the pack. When she’s not stalking tails, she’s wrestling and napping with her brother Wicket.
Because of her hearing loss, Waxie needs a home with older kids who’ll keep track of where she is, and dogs who are very, very cat-savvy — she can’t hear warnings, so the humans and animals around her have to do a little more looking out for her.
